St. Michael’s Gate (Michalská Veza)
St. Michael’s Gate is famous for its inviting passage and a monument of Bratislava’s medieval fortification system, as you can still see the remains of moat and bastion. The 50m (164-ft.) tower has the Exhibition of Weapons and topped with a statue of St. Michael himself. During my viewing, I liked the artifacts of armory that soldiers wore during battles in the past centuries. The neat thing about the weaponry exhibition is the artifacts are located on several floors so you have to go up the stairs and, eventually, you end up at the top of the tower. That was the best part of the exhibition; getting to see a beautiful view over looking Old Town.
Why You Should Go
St. Michael’s Tower is nice to visit because it is one of the oldest monuments in Bratislava and the view is worth the climb up the tower. The price for one adult is €4.00.
How To Get There
In the pedestrian zone on Michael’s street.
