Cheap Eats
In Bratislava there are many restaurants to dine at, some are very pricey in the centre, but I can recommend some cheap eats in my neighborhood that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. The great thing about the restaurants in Old Town is the diversity with international cuisine. Here are some places where to eat delicious food that is well-priced for any traveler.

Bratislava's old town
1. Flag Ship Restaurant
Just recently opened in December 2009, Flag Ship is one of largest restaurants in Europe that serves traditional Slovak dishes. The restaurant has a very exquisite design as it used to be a theatre (the stage is currently used for live band performances) and during the summer, an open terrace for comfortable out door dining in front of the restaurant.
From Monday to Friday from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm they offer their menu of the day for lunch. Everyday is different as you get the soup of the day and a main dish, usually chicken stew with vegetables and potatoes. But it varies day to day. The daily special is €4.00.

2. Taco Rey
Taco Rey is one popular Mexican take-out restaurant. Opened in 2008, Taco Rey has become a favorite place to eat with a menu of tacos, burritos, nachos, and salads. Located in the Old Town, turn to the right of the Slovak National Theatre, across a little area with benches and Taco Rey is right across.
They have recently opened a second Taco Rey in the food court in Eurovea, so try it if you are there. The best combo is a small chicken adobo burrito with a regular drink and choice of soup or chips with salsa all for €3.89 (large €4.39). They also serve breakfast until 10:30 am with a delicious egg and cheese burrito for €2.19. Coffee €0.99.
3. Góvinda Restaurant
For those who are vegetarians, Góvinda Restaurant offers a menu that includes soup, hot vegetables stew with rice and salad. Water is also free. Even though I am not a vegetarian, I still like to eat at Góvinda because of its exotic spices from India as it makes for a great lunch. Small menu €3.80 Large menu €4.50.

4, Panda Restaurant
A good Chinese restaurant on Commerce Street is ideal for a sit-down meal for a good price. From 10:00 am – 5:00 pm try one of their daily specials that include a main dish, soup, rice and drink. They have many items on their menu, but I recommend trying their delicious gung pao chicken meal for €4.60. All their other daily specials are from €3.50 – €5.00
