Local Beer and Wine

A very popular beer is Zlatý Bažant (Golden Pheasant) it is commonly sold in most pubs, café’s and bars. The other Slovak beers are Corgoň and Kelt produced by Heineken; Gambrinus and Smädný mních (Thirsty Monk) made by Slovak brewery Šariš; Kozel; Stein, and Topvar. In Slovakia, with so many beers to choose from, just order a pivo and the pub will be sure to give you a good beer.

Wine

If you like red wines try Chateau Topoľčianky ‘Frankovka Modra’; Vino Nitra ‘Cabernet Sauvignon,’ or Matysak ‘Merlot.’  If you like white wines try Chateau Topoľčianky.
